"Little did I know that after a master's degree in music from the Juilliard School of music in New York, a professional certificate as an Alexander Technique teacher and a long career playing clarinet in symphony orchestras, I'd end up as a quilter. I sneaked into quilting after creating hand-marbled fabric for a quilt store and as I watched what they did with my fabric, I got hooked.

I live in Winnipeg, Canada, with my hubby, Jim (also a musician) and my puppy, Tessa, an adorable Samoyed. I quilt and teach here primarily since 1998. More recently, I taught on-line at Quilt University and more recently with the Academy of Quilting (www.academyofquilting.com). My designs and quilts are featured in Ricky Tims book, "Kool Kaleidoscopes" (C&T Publishing), Sharon Pederson's "Rose of Sharon" DVD and "Block Book" (published by Martingale and Company) as well as "Quilters Newsletter" and "Quiltmakers" magazines. My quilt "With Love and Peace" won the Big Love Quilt Challenge on The Quilt Show web site (www.thequiltshow.com) followed by a four-page interview in Quilter's Newsletter magazine.

My patterns are mostly on my web site, www.compositions-in-cloth.com and on arbeedesigns.com. I experiment often with all sorts of techiques like colouring fabric with dyes, paint sticks, fabrics markers and anything else I can get my hands on. And when I looked into paper-piecing, I got a new idea that has led to a book called "Crystal Quilts Foundation Paper-Piecing The Easy Way". I'll feature one of the crystals in my on-line class."
