About Me

"I'm the creator behind Studio 708, where color, creativity, and a bit of quirk come together in quilt and garment patterns. I love asymmetry, bold palettes (hello, rainbows!), and adding unexpected details‚ like English paper piecing‚ to make each project stand out. I also offer pin cushions, and patterns with hand-sewn details like English paper piecing to give everyday makes an unexpected twist.

Sewing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started by making clothes for my teddy bear, guided by my mom and grandmother. That love for stitching turned into a career in fashion. I've worked in the industry for years, currently at a factory in San Antonio, and I've taught pattern making and draping at the Art Institute and other colleges.

My patterns are designed with real bodies in mind‚ especially those with hips! I love the challenge of turning shapes into something wearable or beautiful. Whether it's garment design, EPP, or FPP, it all feels like a big, colorful puzzle. (Honestly, I should've paid more attention in high school geometry!)

You'll often see Sally, my silent sidekick of a dress form, showing off my latest makes. And when I'm not at the machine? I'm usually out hiking with the Grands, listening to an audiobook, and dreaming up the next project.

My Workshop

"Mastering EPP: Taming Tails & Stitching Shapes"

Ready to fall in love with English Paper Piecing‚ or take your skills to the next level? In this hands-on class, we'll focus on techniques to help you confidently piece hexagons, diamonds, and triangles while keeping those pesky fabric tails under control. Whether you're brand new or just want cleaner finishes, you'll leave with practical tips, new confidence, and a fun project to show off!

In this class, you'll learn:

1) How to manage fabric tails while sewing to keep your shapes crisp and aligned
2) Best practices for whipstitching folded edges for strong, nearly invisible seams
3) How to glue baste like a pro‚ plus a look at the best tools, papers, and needles
4)Color planning basics and how to use fussy cutting to add extra pop
5) How to avoid common EPP pitfalls like bulk, gapping, and misalignment
6) Ideas for turning your EPP panel into a pillow, placemat, or mini wall quilt

Whether you're here to try something new or refine your stitching, this class will give you the confidence and skills to take your EPP projects from ‚"nice" to "wow."
