"I began quilting about 15 years ago when I received a sewing machine as a gift, with no clue what a bobbin was, I somehow figured out how to sew some scraps together and created a lifelong quilting obsession.

I acquired a longarm machine 8 years ago, and after a 2-year struggle to build my skills, I started my professional studio. Quilts I quilted have hung at QuiltCon, AQS Paducah, AQS Daytona, and Quilt Canada. Although I am new to the show quilting circuit, I enjoy the challenge and hope to continue.

I began teaching in 2020, showing people how to look at their quilts and make design decisions that enhance their quilts and build cohesive designs.  With a background as a rugby coach, I found so much joy watching people understand their skills and build seemingly complex designs with just a little extra encouragement.

I took my newfound teaching passion to the internet in 2023, starting a YouTube Channel and making my first Online course.

I was privileged to be recognized by some prestigious quilters, and have had the opportunity to teach from Northern British Columbia, Canada, to the Caribbean. I have been working towards reaching even more people who want to learn more about machine quilting design, and believe I can bring a fresh perspective and take on modern and traditional quilting."

"Swirl Your Way to Pebbles"

In this lesson, I will show you how a minor adjustment to a basic swirl can create a whole new design and vibe. I will cover the modern-looking blunt swirl and how to add a feather plume to the swirl for that more whimsical look. We will also look at the concentric swirls and how to build them. Then, as we work through the 8 swirl designs, I will show you how to transition these designs into skill-building for pebbling, and a swirl that is actually a pebble.

Learning to adjust a swirl design is the beginning of understanding how quilting designs evolve. This lesson will help you expand your design repertoire beyond a swirl.

Although I will be working on a longarm quilting machine, the fundamentals of how these designs are built on a quilt will translate directly to a domestic machine.
