About Me

"I am a lifelong maker based in Ontario, Canada. I am always ready to try new things and share them with others. From 2009 - 2011, I had the amazing opportunity to study traditional pojagi sewing in South Korea. I quickly added pojagi to my list of favourite techniques (along with quilting and hand embroidery). Today, I mainly stitch reversible pojagi by machine, but I occasionally hand sew for special projects. My philosophy is that beautiful things should be made and used every day to bring joy into our lives. I love being a designer and teacher and helping others make beautiful things with quilting, pojagi and embroidery."

My Workshop

"Three Ways to Sew Pojagi Patchwork Seams"

Pojagi Patchwork is made with reversible seams so your finished piece is only one layer of fabric. It is not a quilt and there is not batting or backing. These seams are stitched with a sewing machine, but they are based on a traditional Korean patchwork technique that goes back hundreds of years. In this workshop, Elizabeth DeCroos from Epida Studio will teach you three different methods for stitching these unusual seams by machine, how to decide which method to choose and give you inspiration for projects to make. You can use this technique to make curtains, wrapping cloths, tablecloths, lightweight throws, clothing and more with a wide variety of fabric. Quilting cotton, linen, rayon, silk, canvas, denim and even knits can be used in your projects. It’s a perfect way to use your fabric stash in a new way or upcycle old items you have around your house. You will be limited only by your imagination.

Workshops go live on July 1st!
