"I didn't know what I was getting into when I worked in the fabric and yarn store my mom opened. In the span of two short years, I learned to quilt and loved it so much that I bought a Longarm!

The shop closed, but I kept right on quilting, eventually collaborating with my mom to write two books of quilt patterns before opening my own online shop. I began teaching in the local area and continue to offer guild lectures both in person and virtually.

When I design a quilt, I look for ways to do something unexpected. Modern quilting elements of negative space, scale, and alternate grid work often find their way into my designs. In 2023, I challenged myself to work within a 6x9 block size and my Little Bit Different collection was born. That collection has grown to over 25 individual quilt blocks and almost the same number of distinct patterns for full size quilts.

I love Open Sew days at my local shop and it's always a thrill to go on a quilt retreat. When I can't attend an in person event, I find my quilting buddies online and hang out during a YouTube livestream. I believe anyone can quilt and I want to help people enjoy, experiment and excel as they express their creativity with fabric and thread."

"Stretch your quilt blocks with HRTs"

Are you ready to move beyond the traditional square quilt blocks and stretch your quilts? In this workshop, learn how half- rectangle triangles can expand your design options. Explore the top three ways to include HRTs in a quilt block. Learn valuable tips on how to construct these units with no special rulers required - although we will discuss various tools that make the process a little easier. Because rectangles behave differently than squares, we will focus on the two numbers that make designing with HRTs a breeze. A mini-quilt-show is included with a variety of half-rectangle triangle blocks and full size quilts that showcase the spectacular results from this intriguing design element. Half-rectangle triangles can stand alone or be paired with well-known classic quilt blocks for stunning projects. No complicated math, calculations or complicated formulas - if you can sew a straight line then you can make HRTs. Let's start stretching!
